Free Events for ages 60 & UP hosted by River Forest Park District and riVer forest township

The month of May is Older Americans Month, and the Village of Oak Park, River Forest, and Forest Park have proclaimed the week of May 8-15 Celebrating Seniors Week. This year's mission is "simple yet transformative: to shift the narrative about aging from limitation to opportunity." This year's theme is Older Americans and the Family. Enjoy FREE programs and events during this fun week.

Bocce Ball Event: Learn, Play, Compete

The ancient game of bocce closely resembles bowling, requiring strategy and some luck. What a great game to play on a beautiful day with your friends and neighbors. Park District staff and volunteers will be on hand to teach the game of bocce ball, followed by an open play. All equipment will be provided. Light refreshments will be served.

This event will be held Tuesday, May 13th, from 6:00-7:00 PM at Memorial Parkway Bocce Courts. The event is free, but pre-registration is encouraged. REGISTER HERE.


Pickleball Event: Learn, Play, Compete!

This Pickleball Event is for all levels of play. Beginner players will have the opportunity to learn the game with the Park District instructor, Kelly Frank. More competitive players will play in a Ladder Tournament for prizes and bragging rights! All equipment will be provided. Light refreshments will be served.

This event will be held Wednesday, May 14th, from 6:00-8:30 PM at Keystone Park Courts. The event is free, but pre-registration is encouraged. REGISTER HERE.
