Dance

The Dance program classes run in the fall and winter/spring with a break in the summer. Dance class varieties include various styles of tap, jazz, ballet, and My First Dance. Class offerings can be found in the Fall or Winter/Spring editions of the Fun Guide.

Winter/Spring Dance Recitals
The Winter Dance Recital is held on March 8th. The dance class fee includes 8 weeks of class instruction, one dance recital, 6 recital tickets, and costume.

The Spring Dance Recital will be on May 17th. The dance class fee includes 8 weeks of class instruction, one dance recital, 6 recital tickets, and costume.

Fall/Holiday Dance Show
This fun and festive performance will highlight what the dancers have learned over the Fall session. Dancers who wish to participate in the Holiday Dance Show must complete the Fall session. The dance class fee includes 10 weeks of class instruction, one dance recital, 6 recital tickets, and costume.

Dance Instructor

Ellie Olayo Ellie has been teaching dance at the River Forest park District since 2017. Since the age of 3 she began her dance journey, now with over 20 years experience with Folkloric, contemporary, ballet/tap/jazz/pop and Latin Fusion! Started teaching at 15 years old and has taught kids from 1-18 years - all styles of dance for all occasions, all over the Chicago land area. She has choreographed over 1,000 dance routines! Ellie really enjoys teaching and fostering their love of dance.
