Constitution Park Project
The River Forest Park District has received VIllage approval to redevelop Constitution Park. The scope of the work includes:
- The relocation and development of a new all-inclusive playground.
- The relocation and development of new lighted sand volleyball courts/ice rink.
- New community/sitting plaza.
- New 20'x20' picnic shelter with men's and women's bathrooms.
- The relocation and development of a new 60' basepath baseball field.
The project schedule is September, 2025- June, 2026
Playground to be Reused for Another Community
Demolition of the Constitution Park playground is scheduled to begin on 9/17. The playground has been donated to Kids Around the World. This organization will remove the playground, transform the playground through upcycling, and install it in an impoverished community worldwide to ensure that every child has access to play. This same organization transformed the Keystone, Priory, and Washington playgrounds in the past.
Constitution Park Closure
The park will be closed for construction beginning Tuesday, September 23rd through June, 2026. A 6' high security fence will surround the park during the duration of the project.

Priory Park Project
The River Forest Park District has received approval for facility improvements at Priory Park. The scope of work includes:
- The development of an approximately 1,700 SF Splash Pad.
- A 700 SF addition to the Priory Center for the purpose of creating a program space.
The project schedule is November, 2025- May, 2026.
Priory Park Closure
A section of park (north of the playground and around the Priory Center) will be closed for construction beginning Wednesday, November 12th through Friday, May 22nd. A 6' high security fence will surround this portion of the park during the duration of the project.

Keystone Ballfield #2 Project
The River Forest Park District is planning on converting the Keystone #2 Ballfield infield from grass/dirt to synthetic turf and the project has received approval from the Village as a minor amendment to the Keystone Park Planned Development Ordinance. The scope of the work includes:
- Converting the ballfield infield from grass/dirt to synthetic turf to accommodate Little League U12 play.
- Placing single bleachers closest to home plate (reversing the dugouts and home plate) to allow the best fan viewing.
- Expanding the dugouts by 25% to accommodate older age group teams.
This project is included in the Park District's 2026-2027 Capital Projects Budget.
The project schedule is July- August, 2026.
