Parade begins at Division Street and Ashland Avenue
River Forest, Illinois 60305

The River Forest Park District and the River Forest Service Club are proud to present the 2009 Memorial Day Parade. The parade is one of twelve special events that the Park District will be hosting in 2009. This year's parade will begin at the corner of Ashland Avenue and Division Street. The parade route heads south on Ashland Avenue to Lake Street, then heads west on Lake Street to Keystone Avenue. The parade ends at Lake Street and Keystone Avenue in Keystone Park.

Over 100 entries and thousands of spectators are expected to participate in this year's event, making this day one of the highlights of the year in the Village of River Forest. See "Parade Sponsorship Opportunities" below for the registration form if you wish to participate in the parade. This event is entirely supported by community contributions.

Memorial Day Service
At the conclusion of the parade, a somber and reverent service honoring our local veterans will take place at Keystone Park. A variety of color guards, marching bands, scout troops and others will assist in the observance.

Community Picnic
Immediately following the Memorial Day Service, a community picnic sponsored by Corus Bank will be held at Keystone Park. Grilled hot dogs, chips and soda/water will be provided.
